As we announced two weeks ago, Community Design Services has recently created an Intern Program with the dual aims of furthering the mission of CDS and developing future design leaders. An Intern commits to ongoing volunteer service with Community Design Services and works with all aspects of the organization including client consultations, project team function, and internal operations.
Today we’re proud to introduce Joseph Gerke as a CDS Intern!
Joseph graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in civil engineering and a focus in structural engineering. He met his lovely wife there at the university, and they now have 2 young boys. Joseph is a licensed structural engineer and works at Armstrong-Douglass. He is also currently pursuing an MA in Management from DBU. When asked why he wants to serve as a CDS Intern, he replied, “I joined CDS because I believe giving to the community is an essential part of being a licensed professional. My company has graciously allowed me to find ways to serve, and CDS had values and a vision that I wanted to invest in. I am so excited to join the fellowship of these brothers and sisters who give so much!”
We’re glad to have you, Joseph, as a CDS Intern!
